Emailwish (“Emailwish”, “the App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) provides email marketing, customer engagement, automation, reviews, chat, popups, wishlist, back-in-stock notifications, and related services to merchants who use Shopify to power their stores.
This Privacy Policy explains how Emailwish collects, uses, stores, and shares personal information when you install or use the App.
1. Information We Collect
When you install Emailwish, we may access information from your Shopify store through Shopify’s APIs. The information we access depends on the permissions granted to the App and the features you use.
Merchant and Store Information
We may collect:
- Merchant name and contact information
- Shopify store name and domain
- Shopify shop identifier
- Store address
- Store timezone, currency, and language
- Store settings and configuration
- Information necessary to authenticate and operate the App
Customer Information
To provide email marketing, automation, customer engagement, and related features, Emailwish may access and process personal information relating to customers of your Shopify store, including:
- First and last name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Billing address
- Shipping address
- Customer identifier
- Customer account information
- Customer tags and segments
- Marketing subscription and consent information
- Customer order history
- Other customer information made available through Shopify’s APIs that is necessary to provide the Service
Order and Transaction Information
Emailwish may access information relating to orders and purchases, including:
- Order number and identifier
- Order date and time
- Order status
- Products purchased
- Product and variant information
- Quantity purchased

- Discounts
- Fulfillment and shipping information

- Wishlist activity
- Back-in-stock subscriptions

- Chat interactions
- Email opens and clicks

Information Collected Directly by Emailwish
We may also collect information directly from merchants and other individuals who use Emailwish, including:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Shopify store domain
- Account and authentication information
- Subscription information
- Billing information
- Customer support communications
- Information submitted through forms or other interactions with Emailwish
Payment card information is processed by Stripe. Emailwish does not directly store complete payment card numbers.
Automatically Collected Information
We may automatically collect technical information when you use Emailwish, including IP address, browser type, operating system, device information, referring and exit pages, pages viewed, and dates and times of activity.
We may collect this information through cookies, pixels, web beacons, tags, local storage, and similar technologies.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to provide, operate, maintain, secure, and improve Emailwish.

- Create and send automated emails on behalf of merchants.
- Provide abandoned-cart and abandoned-checkout recovery.
- Provide welcome, post-purchase, review-request, and other lifecycle automations.
- Provide newsletters and marketing campaigns.

- Provide popups, chat, wishlist, and back-in-stock functionality.
- Use customer and order information to trigger automated workflows.
- Provide email delivery and engagement analytics.
- Measure email opens, clicks, conversions, and campaign performance.
- Provide customer support.
- Process subscriptions and payments.
- Authenticate accounts and maintain account security.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized activity.

- Improve the performance, reliability, and functionality of Emailwish.

- Communicate with merchants regarding their accounts, the Service, security matters, and product updates.

When Emailwish processes customer information obtained from a merchant’s Shopify store, we generally process that information on behalf of the merchant to provide the functionality requested by the merchant.
We do not use Shopify customer information for purposes unrelated to providing or improving the Service, except where required or permitted by applicable law.
3. Data Ownership and Privacy
Merchants retain ownership of the customer and store information they provide to Emailwish or make available to Emailwish through Shopify.
Emailwish processes this information on behalf of merchants to provide the Service.
Merchants are responsible for ensuring that their collection and use of customer information complies with applicable privacy, data protection, and marketing laws.
Merchants are also responsible for providing their customers with appropriate privacy notices and obtaining any consent required for marketing communications or other processing activities.
Emailwish does not sell Shopify customer personal information for monetary consideration.
We do not use customer information obtained through Shopify to provide third-party behavioural advertising.
Where applicable, Emailwish will respect customer consent, marketing preferences, unsubscribe requests, and other privacy choices made through the merchant’s store or Emailwish.
Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:
- Access your personal information.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of your personal information.
- Request restriction of certain processing.
- Object to certain processing.
- Request portability of certain information.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
- Lodge a complaint with a relevant data protection authority.
If your information was provided to Emailwish through a Shopify merchant’s store, you may need to contact the relevant merchant to exercise certain rights because the merchant determines how your information is used.
Emailwish will assist merchants with applicable privacy requests relating to information processed through the Service as required by applicable law and Shopify requirements.
4. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
These measures may include access controls, authentication, encryption of information in transit and at rest, security monitoring, and other safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information we process.
We limit access to personal information to individuals and service providers who need access to provide, maintain, secure, or support the Service.
No method of transmission or electronic storage is completely secure. While we take reasonable measures to protect personal information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Emailwish may use cookies, pixels, web beacons, tags, local storage, and similar technologies to operate the App and its features.

- Operate Emailwish features.

- Support features such as popups, chat, wishlist, and back-in-stock notifications.

You may be able to control or disable cookies through your browser or device settings. Disabling certain cookies or technologies may affect the functionality of Emailwish or features installed on a merchant’s store.
6. Third-Party Services
Emailwish uses certain third-party service providers to operate and provide the Service.
Shopify
Emailwish integrates with Shopify and uses Shopify’s APIs to access information from a merchant’s Shopify store.
Shopify information accessed by Emailwish is used to provide the features and functionality requested by the merchant.
Stripe
Emailwish uses Stripe to process subscription payments and billing.
When you subscribe to a paid Emailwish plan, payment information may be provided directly to Stripe. Stripe processes payment information according to its own privacy policy and security practices.
Emailwish does not directly store complete payment card numbers.
Other Service Providers
Emailwish may use third-party providers for hosting, infrastructure, email delivery, analytics, monitoring, security, and other technical services necessary to operate Emailwish.
These providers may process personal information on behalf of Emailwish and only to the extent necessary to provide their services.
We may also disclose personal information to professional advisors, such as legal, accounting, or financial advisors, where reasonably necessary.
We may disclose personal information where required by law, regulation, court order, subpoena, or other lawful request, or where reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property, security, or users of Emailwish.
If Emailwish is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, bankruptcy, or similar transaction, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.
International Transfers
Emailwish is based in Hong Kong. Personal information may be processed or stored in Hong Kong and other countries where Emailwish or its service providers operate.

Emailwish is a business service and is not directed toward children.
